arivu

Arivu / Platform

An operating system
for knowledge.

Arivu is being built to make knowledge a shared, computable resource for applications. Information, relationships, rules, and evidence would form a common foundation—so each application can build on context instead of reconstructing it.

Early-stage development · All product capabilities below are planned.

Concept architecture / Planned

  1. Sources

Records, documents, code, and events, with explicit mappings and source references.

  2. A common knowledge substrate

    Entities · relationships · assertions
    Meaning · history · evidence
    Shared query and reasoning contracts

  3. Applications & services

Domain models, specialized analysis, and workflows through defined interfaces.

One logical foundation; storage and computation may be specialized. This is an architectural intention, not a deployed system.
Why “operating system”?

A common way to manage knowledge and invoke reasoning, so independently developed applications can reuse both. The analogy describes a platform responsibility, not a replacement for your computer’s OS.

01 / The shared foundation

Meaning. Evidence. Reasoning.

Three connected responsibilities, developed incrementally.

Planned / Knowledge

Keep context together.

A catalog would govern identities, definitions, sources, and versions. Typed relationships and assertions would preserve what was known, when, and where it came from. Observations, assertions, derived conclusions, and AI hypotheses would remain distinguishable.

Planned / Reasoning

Make conclusions inspectable.

Beyond finding relevant information, graph queries, explicit rules, and constraints would derive conclusions from it. Evidence and dependencies would explain each result and support revising it when a premise changes. Missing evidence would remain visible.

Planned / Extensibility

Extend through contracts.

Applications and services would introduce domain models, rules, adapters, and specialized computations through defined interfaces. Different reasoning engines could share knowledge and evidence contracts without changes to the kernel.

02 / Deliberate boundaries

A foundation with a clear remit.

The planned platform manages knowledge and reasoning. Applications own how that knowledge is used.

Platform responsibility / Planned

Shared knowledge and its lifecycle.

Identity, relationships, revisions, provenance, query and reasoning interfaces, and authorization foundations.

Source systems would remain authoritative. Derived indexes and hypotheses would be distinguishable from source knowledge.

Application responsibility

Domain choices and business operations.

User experiences, workflows, business policies, specialized intelligence, and integration with operational systems belong to applications and services.

Governed action execution is a later runtime concern. Its boundary with the knowledge core remains an open design decision; this site makes no execution or safety guarantee.

Arivu is intended to work alongside databases, analytical tools, and agent frameworks. Source support and integration behavior require validation.

03 / Generality through reuse

Different questions.
The same foundation.

Two intended validation domains—not available products or working demonstrations.

01

Enterprise intelligence

A supplier delay connects to orders, customer commitments, and approval policies. Trace the dependencies and evidence behind an assessment.

02

Software intelligence

A code change connects to functions, dependencies, and constraints. A specialized service could assess its impact using the same knowledge and reasoning contracts.

The test of generality: model two unrelated domains without redesigning the core abstractions.

04 / Progress & scope

Start small.
Prove the foundation.

Implemented versus planned

Implemented here: static website pages and an interactive fictional enterprise walkthrough. These explain the concept; they do not run Arivu.

Product implementation: no implemented capabilities are verified by the supplied materials. The substrate, reasoning, APIs, SDK, integrations, and runtime remain planned in this overview.

The first proof to aim for

Represent a small set of entities and assertions, query their relationships, inspect their evidence, revise an assertion, and reconstruct what changed. Validate the knowledge model in two unrelated domains before expanding it.

What would follow?

Reproducible reasoning and correct invalidation of conclusions, then extension services and reference applications. Governed agents and enterprise scale are later directions, dependent on validated foundations.

Technical direction, with room to learn

The roadmap proposes a local-first Rust implementation, beginning on one machine. Storage choices, reasoning engines, interfaces, federation, and distributed execution require evaluation. No SDK, connector support, performance level, or production deployment option is promised here.
